Operation Southern Comfort has reached out to our friends and neighbors in the Katrina stricken Gulf Coast in many different ways....what you see above is an outpouring of love and talent by Alberta Lewis, a local resident, artist and OSC supporter. Alberta donated the slate tiles, her time and art supplies to teach our volunteers how to paint tiles lost during the storm!
It is so very hard to capture in words the many feelings that rise up when you see what is taking place between the people in the region and our volunteers....the cultural exchange, the bonding, the new and lifelong friendships being created, the life experiences gained...things we often overlook or take for granted in our daily lives....that have taken on so much more meaning and have such an overwhelming impact on all involved.....this is truly what life is all about....take part...join us in whatever way you can.
